At The Smith's

Had some running to do last Saturday, so I stopped by the gunsmith's place.  I left s friends 22 rifle there for magazine tube repair.  Either the forearm screw was too long or torqued too tight, such that it deformed the magazine tube.  The spring loaded brass tube was stuck.  He was so busy that he didn't get to it yet.

He did have and installed the new safety on my Kimber Ultra Carry.  The safety on my 5" Kimber broke last year so he put s Wilson on it.  I like the different profile and was a little uncertain about the possibility of the safety breaking on my carry gun.

Heard some good news.  He told me that AR components are now much more available, though a couple are now more expensive.  I was told he could build me a new rifle in 3 weeks or less, but the price would be about $200 more then last year.  Thankfully I got my AR the summer before Evil's first election.

Not sure what to take to him next.  I have an old lose fitting Hi-Power that has seen thousands of rounds, purchased in 1990.  I also have an Ishapore with a bobbed barrel that I want modified.  I want a rail mounted in the scout position, and the barrel threaded for a flash hider so I can tune the barrel harmonics. . . . . Decisions . . . . Decisions.
