Wanna Bet??

I recently read that in 2012, 1,100 retired and active duty special forces personnel wrote a letter to Obama saying they would actively oppose his efforts to disarm Americans.  Civilians combined with military that live to their oaths, pretty much guarantee that we can beat any attempt at tyranny in this country.  The 'no chance' argument by the pro-tyranny left holds no water.

Range Time . . . Finally

The adopted grandchildren's stepfather is a decent guy.  I suppose I can call him a friend.  He decided to attend a concealed carry class but doesn't own a handgun.  He asked to borrow 1 of mine.  Saturday I took him to the range for some basic instruction using my Hi-Power.  I chose to loan him that one because it's one of the easiest guns I own to shoot well.

His biggest issue was being right handed and left eye dominant.  He has gotten by, by closing his left eye to shoot long and short guns.  I taught him to tilt the weapon a little to the left and keep both eyes open.  With a little bit of practice he was keeping all rounds on a half sized silhouette at 25 yards.

Apparently he rocked during the shooting portion of the class Sunday.

While there I finally got the red dot adjusted on my AR, though not the EER on the Ishapore.

I was also pleasantly surprised that my handgun skills had not completely eroded in the couple months since I was at the range last.

Time Away

A little over a week ago, I took my annual trip to Michigan for 2 days of paintball.  This was the last Tippman Challenge at Hell Survivors.  I don't know the final score, but the 6 of us basically kicked ass.

This last weekend the Boss, our 2 dogs , and I were in Nashville Indiana a few days.  We naturally spent a lot of time walking the streets, visiting shops intent on taking our money.  Having said that, the best part of the trip was relaxing in a cabin in the hills, without cell phone service.  I never realize how much stress is in my life until time is spent away, enjoying a pipe of tobacco, and/or a little bourbon while watching the birds and squirrels in the woods.
