That Woman

. . . .  she was willing to turn off the security measures for all State Dept emails so that people wouldn't have FOIA access to her emails.

I know a lot of people have issues with Trump, but to me there's really no choice at this point.  That woman is criminal.  I can't think of 1 logical reason why anyone would want her in the oval office.  I can think of several reasons why she should be occupying a jail cell instead.

Suppressor Question

When mounted on a handgun, how is it that the gun still functions reliably?  That weight hanging on the end adds mass that should increase inertia, slowing things down.

Admitted Ignorance

I don't understand.  I really don't understand how the UK leaving the EU has a negative effect on the US stock market.  Who the hell cares on this side of the world?

Recommendation

Today a co-worker asked for my opinion regards what kind of handgun to buy for the house and target shooting.  I've been asked that many times over the years.  He has a shotgun and 22.  My first recommendation for a house gun, especially for the non-shooter, is a shotgun.  He wants a handgun for the house and target shooting, so I gave him my usual answer.  Get a revolver with a 4" to 6" barrel, chambered for the 357 magnum.  A very versatile weapon chambered to fire anything from 38 special target rounds to magnum loads.

Years ago that was my choice for the reasons mentioned above.  Then when I acquired other choices the 357 was relegated for relative long range target shooting and hunting.  A 158 grain jacket hollow point at 1250F/S works quite well for taking white tailed deer out to 120 yards. Got actual experience with that. I think it would work well for goblins too, though over penetration would be a consideration.

Horse Update

The farrier ( see post below ) really couldn't do much of anything.  She couldn't/wouldn't keep weight on the injured hip long enough for him to do the job, even on her front feet.  He suggested that maybe a pain killer would allow him to work on her.  He also suggested I have a horse chiropractor take a look at her.

Next week the farrier will arrive to trim hooves on all the horses in the barn.  I also have the Vet coming to evaluate my mare at the same time.  If appropriate, the Vet can administer pain medication to the mare so the farrier can do his job.  I'll also get an evaluation and maybe a chiropractor recommendation.

She hasn't shown any improvement in a few weeks now, and I suspect the extra long, curling hooves are holding her back some.  We've been afraid she might get re-injured if put out with the rest of the horses, especially since she tends to trip over her long hooves.

She has shown 2 signs of getting better.  She is more energetic, wanting to join the rest of the herd.  And the other night she kicked the stall wall, splitting 1 oak board and pulling a few nails.  All trying to get to the rest.

Another Attack

Saw on the news this morning that we had another "workplace violence" in a legalized killing zone.  Does anyone actually believe the drivel that always comes from the WH anymore?  I haven't heard, but I'm sure we'll hear nothing but BS.  WAKE UP!  We're under attack.  And YES religion is at the heart of it.  And restricting civilian arms WILL NOT do anything but create more easy targets.

A Little Cleaning

Earlier this spring I cleaned the Boss's saddle and tack.  Then I cleaned the Australian saddle purchased for the granddaughter, that she no longer uses. The Asussie was used and a little large for her.  I cleaned it because I may end up using it for me to ride the big gelding.  It fits his hard to fit back, but for me it's like a cork in a bottle.  Too tight, but tolerable.  Today I got around to cleaning my saddle, after mowing the grass, just in case I want to try out the Boss's horse.

My mare is improving but I doubt she'll be fit before winter. Her injury was mid January and she's now able to walk, but not well.  I haven't been able to get her to put weight on the injured hip long enough to clean her hooves.  Her hooves have grown so long that they're effecting her recovery.  Got a farrier coming Tuesday.  He'll be able to work the front, but the back is questionable.

Was thinking of going to the range today but decided it's just too hot.  Way too hot for me when pushing 90F.  Guess I'm one of the few that gets less tolerant of heat the older I get.
