The Boss said that any attempt to disarm the population will be problematic.

Spilled Over

Our crappy year has spilled over to my sister visiting from down south.  Her daughter checked on her empty house and found a mess apparently created by a rat infestation.  Her granddaughter was involved in a roll over car accident and now my sister struck a deer. She took the deer square in the grill so she's without a vehicle for a couple of weeks.  Oh, and I almost forgot, during her visit last spring, she fell and broke a bone in her hand.

Not Home

Every day for a week I've driven the Boss to the hospital so we could sit around hoping her sister would wake up.  The Docs say her sister has no upper level brain function, to go with kidney and liver issues.  All medications were discontinued 2 days ago, and then the vent removed this morning. She's breathing on her own, shallow and inconsistent. No one knows how long her body will hang on, but we're all sure she isn't there any more.

I hate it when the Boss cries.  When she cries, I cry.

Her body didn't make it 24 hours.  Yesterday the Boss was in bad shape all day.  She didn't want anyone around her, not even me.  She was breaking my heart.  Today she's much better, almost as if nothing has happened. 

The service is this Monday.  I expect her emotions to hit another low. She's the only one left from her small family of 4.

And Another Crap Storm

And our shitty year continues.  Yesterday morning at about 2am, the Bosses sisters heart stopped for about 10 minutes.  She's now in the ICU with several IVs running and being warmed up after 24 hours of keeping her body way colder than normal.  The thought is to minimize possible brain damage. Tests for heart attack and stroke are negative.  The doctors don't know what happened.  Right now they are concerned about her kidneys and liver.  It seems they are treating symptoms as they arise without knowing or attacking the cause.

We might know more in a couple of days.

The Boss is still recovering from her spine surgery so I'm her driver, with a car and a wheelchair.

Civil War

Every now and then I read something about whether we're on the verge of a civil war.  Our civil war has been going for decades, but without blood shedding, . . . so far.  I will note that the civility has dropped off to practically nothing, especially from the liberty hating far left.  There is absolutely nothing civil about Antifa, or the destruction of historical artifacts.

If the far left has their way, especially those communist Dems wanting to be POTUS, a shooting war is bound to come.

Old Router

Been having intermittent home wifi issues for about a month now.  Sometimes I had a signal but couldn't connect. A few days ago the problem became continuous.  Replacing the cable modem brought things back to intermittent. Replacing the router seems to have fixed the issue.  The router was probably about 13 years old.

The Boss ordered the router on-line.  During setup my laptop screen came up in Japanese, I think.  Had to phone the manufacturer for help. I think the range is slightly less, but we now have a lot more band width.

Well Crap

Made it to the range for a couple of hours yesterday.  Being interested in the velocity variation between 3 different pistols and the SUB2000, all with 9mm chambers and different barrel lengths.  I got less than halfway through the test when my chronograph malfunctioned.  I didn't pay enough attention and a bullet clipped the back sensor.  Crap! Looks like I need to order a new body assembly.

Oh well, at least got a little trigger time.
