Enfield 7.62x51

Several years ago I acquired an Enfield chambered for the 7.62x51. Soon after I bought 2 wooden cases of Mil Surp ammo for it. It is capable of minute of angle accuracy with that ammo. I'm now down to 6oo rounds remaining so today I started gathering data hoping to load my own matching the military stuff.

Along with the Mil Surp I fired some Magtech 7.62x51. The Magtech was slightly slower across the chrono but with half the velocity variation. I found it strange that the lowest velocity variation resulted in twice the group size at 100 yards.

Maybe the lower velocity caused barrel harmonic issues, or maybe it was the guy squeezing the trigger.  I'll try it again at a later date.
