Riding for 2 hours this morning. With beautiful weather and wonderful trail horses we covered about 4 miles. Took 3 ibuprofens before leaving and 2 after. The arthritic hip is a little sore but tolerable.
Got a 4 day weekend coming up. Hope to go riding a couple of times, and long enough on the trails to make use of the picnic tables.

Screwed Up
The Boss and I spent Wed through Sun in a rustic cabin in southern Indiana. No internet, spotty cell phone coverage and little TV. Found it to be quite relaxing. We decompressed from the screwed up world, at least for a little while.
One set of screwed up people have been objecting to historical monuments to the point of destruction. Another set of screwed up people hold a legal demonstration, and get physically attacked by the first set. And those demonstrating legally get the blame. Boy is that screwed up.
The far left, the ones preaching tolerance and pacifism seem to be the ones that are violent against anyone in disagreement. Boy is that screwed up.
Personally I think those monuments should remain as a reminder of this country's history. To me this is similar to the Nazi concentration camp we visited in Poland being destroyed. Without the physical reminder we are doomed to forget and repeat.
Those that want total gun confiscation are typically the most violent, while the most lawful have concealed carry license. Boy is that screwed up.
Democrats, in the past, were for the working man. Today the cities and states with the most poverty and crime are run by Democrats. Boy is that screwed up.
The world is rife with religious terrorists and crazy violent dictators, and we can't get along with ourselves. And the country that stands for freedom and democracy is now in an internal conflict for it's identity. The highest elected official is under attack by basically all of the old guard. I guess democracy doesn't mean much anymore. Boy is that screwed up.
Keep your powder dry. I fear you'll be needing it.

BLM is Racist
So POTUS talked about the evil of racism and named some examples. As I understand, he omitted a few organizations like Black Lives Matter & etc. That in itself is racist.

Short Ride
Four of us took a short ride today, A little over an hour on the trails. The horses did great and the weather was nice for a pleasant ride. Took ibuprofen before and after. My one original hip is very sore and the Boss's bad back is hurting her. Sucks getting old.

Three Hours
The Boss and I hit the trails today for the first time in a few weeks. I'm happy, and a little surprised to say that both horses behaved very well and were a wonderful ride through the fields, woods, up hills, down hills, through mud and the creeks. We rode non stop for 3 hours, except for a very brief pee stop for this old man. A lot of old men, like me, have that issue. The Boss never left her saddle the whole time.
Near the beginning of our ride we came across someone in a mummy bag sleeping in the middle of the bridle trail. The horses, seeing something for the first time refused to continue. It might be something that would eat them you know. We retraced our steps and went a different route.
The weather was beautiful for this time of year. It was in the low 60s when we started (9:30) and just into the 70s when we finished.
Near the end of our trail ride I noticed myself leaning back in the saddle, groin stretch burning and some pain in my left hip joint. The groin stretch and leaning back are due to not really being in riding shape, at least not 3 hours worth. The left hip issue I'm afraid is arthritis.
