Most of my associates at work are no worse than gun ownership neutral, with several actual gun nuts like me. One of the neutral guys has now passed over to the dark side. He now owns a hand gun, and is considering a second.
He is heavily involved in neighborhood little league. One evening he was working on a ball diamond that has a wooded area past the outfield when he saw a drug deal happen in the woods. So now he wants to carry a personal protection device. He and another gunny at work (certified instructor) went to a private property for instruction and his first ever experience shooting s firearm. Today he told me he was nervous, a little scared, and enjoyed the experience.
He even bought air soft guns to practice in his backyard and teach his children gun safety and shooting.
