Laser Sights
At first glance the laser built into the grips of a pistol seems to be a great accessory. That's before the practical is considered. The laser is located on the right side and top of the grip. With your finger on the trigger, that's fine. But before firing the finger is above the trigger guard, tending to block the laser. So your finger is on or too near the trigger to use this device. Not a good idea to me.

I've got a CTC grip on my MnP, as well as a Surefire X300 and a 10-8 Performance rear sight. All are useful tools, but some get used more than others. For my purposes, the laser is zeroed to the longest distance in my abode; about 20 yards. Where it has value is when I am in a situation where I can't use the conventional sights; say behind cover that exposes too much of myself to bring the sights to bear. I can "trigger" the laser, and put hits on the target as long as I can index that laser on whatever needs shooting. They're not an all purpose sight and are a detriment in many situations. It's a matter of understanding the tool and it's applications. Hammers make lousy screwdrivers.
So how do you account for the trigger finger blocking the laser unless the finger is kept on the trigger?
