As I understand, a state of the union passes a law that is extremely close to duplicating the federal law. The Fed has refused to enforce such law for decades, so the state will do it themselves.
The Fed files suit against the state, and files a preliminary injunction. The case is reviewed and the injunction ruled my a federal judge.
Aren't federal judges appointed by and report to the federal government? Isn't this a little bit of conflict of interest? What happened to equal under the law?
