Had a little discussion with a c0-0p (student) engineer today concerning gun ownership. One guy at work claims to have 7 AR-15s, "assembled" as he put it. The student just doesn't understand why anyone would want more than one of any type of gun. I explained the plethora of configurations and cartridges available for that platform. For instance, my AR is designed around quick handling and target acquisition chambered for the 223, and I'd like to have another one set up for longer distance shooting. My next one, if there is one, will most likely be with a heavy, cryogenically treated heavy barrel in something like 6.5MM or maybe something bigger in the AR-10 platform.
He still doesn't understand.
