At my insistance The Boss will not open the door to our home to anyone she doesn't know personally, even if that person is wearing a police uniform. She also will not pull over when driving alone for any vehicle. She'll drive to the nearest police station or fire station before stopping.

It's rare, but occasionally home invasions have been helped by opening the door to a man in police uniform. It's also rare, but police impersonaters have also attacked women that've pulled over for an apparent traffic stop. It's best to keep thinking of oneself as opposed to falling lock-step into compliance of a uniform.

I'm also of the strong opinion that all women should be armed at all times, though in general this doesn't seem to be in their nature. The primal notion that a womans man is her protector seems well ingrained, even today.
