Talking Heads

 I've had my fill of the talking heads claiming truth without giving any proof. For instance, if ICE is operating illegally, explain how and what law is being broken. Also if operating legally, what law allows their actions.  Being humans, it's likely that some individuals have stepped over the line. That's not what I'm talking about. We shouldn't be considering that a few represents the whole.

The same talking heads continually jump to conclusions without having the whole picture concerning the actions of individuals. I don't want to hear your propaganda.

Lunatics

There might be one or two, but I don't remember a right wing lunatic shooting a lefty in my lifetime. Not sure about the Kennedys. It seems that attempts on the life of a conservative is becoming way more common. I expect that at some point the situation will reverse. 

Celebration

 Most everyone in my little part of the country is very happy that Trump won, (the Boss actually jumped up and down with joy) that GOP will control the Senate and maybe the House. This puts a bump in the road, slowing the slip into just another socialist/communist country.

I don't under stand why anyone would vote for a candidate in the Dem/socialist/communist party.

I celebrated today by spending a couple hours launching lead 25 yards down range. Hi-Power 9mm, Hi-Power 40S&W, and 1911 45acp. Even fired a few at 50 yards. Marksmanship wasn't too bad considering it's been over a month.

Also ran 25 through the lever action 454 at 75 yards off hand. Not bad at all with the red dot sight.

An elderly man told me that the 50 yard bank is actually 75 yards. Now I'm curious. I'll bring my laser range finder next time.

Surprised

 I must admit that I'm surprised at the presidential election results. My gut said that Trump would win the popular vote, but it would have to be huge to overcome the Democratic games shoving things in their direction.  

Oh well, let the lawsuits and riots begin.

Plan ??

 I didn't watch the debate because my vote is cast in concrete. I choose substance over style, capitalism over socialism/communism, small Fed government over large.

Some in the media say that she voiced her plan for the future. I disagree. She voiced mostly targets, not plan. Plan is how you get to the end result, not the end result itself.

Handgun at the Range

So yesterday I made it to the range for a couple of hours. Been shooting mostly handguns lately in an effort to regain marksmanship skills that have eroded the last few years. Fired a few rounds through my 2 hunting revolvers, 50 rounds of 357Mag, and about half that many 454Casull. I was after targets at 50 and 75 yards with some success, but not nearly to my satisfaction.

When shooting my 1911 or Hi-Power, I frequently practice strong hand and weak hand only. As one might expect I'm not as good using just one hand. Yesterday I didn't bring either full sized pistol, so as a whim I pulled my carry gun, a Kimber Ultra Carry in 45acp. I fired several magazines strong hand only at 25 yards. Marksmanship was typical, but I had 3 stoppages probably due to limp wrist. Need to work on that, and try the same with my other carry gun, a Sig 938.

Even if you've been living under a rock, you know a guy missed his target at about 150 yards. Yes there was luck, or maybe a guarding angel, but the shooter wasn't very good. His head didn't seem to move enough for me to miss at twice that range, and I'm not that good.

I have cleanly taken deer with a single shot with a 357 revolver at 120 yards. Granted, I was going for center of chest, not a head.

Why Bother?

 Thursday a guy asked if I was going to watch the debate. Why bother watching? We know how each would do,or not do, the job, and there's evidence that one is corrupt. I don't give a damn about personalities, but how the job is performed.

Evil/incompetent Fed

 As usual our wonderful government is late and weak in responding to anything. England was the same way and  contributed to the start of WWII by trying to appease Nazi Germany. And since we no longer have a national border, illegals are treated better than citizens and about half the country wants communism (by another name) we aren't far from a violent civil war. Right now there's minimal violence, but we are at war internally. This makes us ripe to be overtaken by a foreign nation, since the invaders are within our borders now.

Relating to the above, my non-gunny son is shopping for a home defense shotgun. Told him I'm fond of my CZ 712 Utility.

On a personal note. 

My PSA number has been increasing for several years. It was 9.7 last test. Statistically that puts me at the top end of the 30% chance of prostate cancer. The MRI last week was clean in some frames and inconclusive in another. My GP is confident no cancer, but is sending me to an urologist as a precaution.

Been a while

Been very busy lately driving the Boss to various doctor appointments and taking care of various issues around the house. Also spent some time, out of state, visiting our grand-daughter and great-grandsons. No wifi at that particular RV park.

The Boss is losing her vision, so I have become her driver.  Today she had her eyes measured for upcoming lense replacement surgery.

The inherited AR works well with the correct ammo.  It's on target at 50 yards, at least a well as these old eyes can use traditional irons.

I keep a Keltec sub 2000 in a back park under the seat of my truck.  Been thinking about stashing either the new AR or the 30 carbine in the Boss's car. Need to teach the Boss how to operate both, then let her decide.

The 9mm barrel for occasional use in the FN Hi-Power 40, is on the tight side. Some of my range brass apparently came from Glocks, because the base diameter after resizing is at the high end or over. Not an issue with the 33 year old FEG Hi-Power. I'll need to find a solution or sort ammo for the FN when I choose to shoot 9mm with it.

The FEG was modified by removing the magazine disconnect, blocking the trigger back, thin grips and fiber optic sight. Other than the thin grips, the other modifications have yet to be done to the FN. The new front sight has been ordered. Modifying the trigger system is going to require help from a smith.  The pin is much tighter than the FEG. Hit it rather hard with a punch & hammer without success.

And all the while we are being invaded with permission by our own government.

The US administration is evil or stupid. I think both.

Texas

 For those that were never taught in school, the now state of Texas was once an independent nation. Since the federal government has obviously abandoned the southern border, maybe Texas should once again be a nation unto itself. They could use what was once federal tax money to do what the federal administration has refused to do.

The Stupid Party

 Don't know where I heard/read it first, but that person said that the Dems were the evil party and the Reps the stupid party. The recent fiasco in the house has certainly proved the second part. If they keep putzing around, we could easily see a member of the evil party being speaker.

The Fall of a Republic

How can so many Ds win congressional positions when something like 75% of the country reportedly thinks we're heading in the wrong direction, with Ds in control?

How can so many vote based on lies and/or emotion without understanding the issues?

Why do most news sources favor just one side by what is aired or omitted?

How can state election officials violate state election laws, and it's OK?

How can a D remain in charge of an election and also be one of the candidates?

Seems we're on the verge of being a banana republic.

Oil War - Inflation

We import foreign oil . . . their production methods are far more damaging to the environment than in North America.

It's the Biden administration's fault, because it is suppressing the domestic oil industry for political gain.

And I hear that the refineries are close to maxed out because no one wants to invest, long term, in an industry that's being targeted by the government.

She's Mad

 The Boss does not normally comment about politics or society in general.  I can recall 2 exceptions.

1 - When Obama was elected she asked that I maintain at least 1,000 rounds of ammunition for each of my battle rifles. She was concerned that the state of the economy and society might end in general violence. I was happy to comply, though her concern was a bit premature.

2 - Yesterday she was just plain mad about how Trump has been and is being treated. She's wondering when the general shooting war will begin between the liberty loving and the communists. 

And when they determine that I'm a criminal because of the guns I own, I'll ignore the law. The Boss is in full agreement with my attitude.

Constitutional Carry at Home

My home state now has constitutional carry, and like when carry licenses were initiated a lot of the mucky mucks of the police organizations are totally against it. (Not and never has been illegal to carry openly)  They're crying about 'blood in the streets'.  Blah . . Blah . . Blah.  Never happened then, doubt it will happen now. 

Makes me wonder if they're afraid that us citizens will make their job irrelevant. 

Gun Control ?

 So once again to "do something" we're expecting to have additional federal laws concerning ownership of guns. And as in the past these new laws will have absolutely no effect on the illegal use of firearms. But since the Dems and Rinos want a disarmed public that they can control, there will be more restrictions on the lawful.  All tyrannies start with a disarmed population.

Like the last "assault weapon" and magazine capacity laws, I will completely ignore the new federal laws.

In my state, the governor just signed a bill that makes it easier for school staff to be armed in schools. It's not mandatory, but left up to the individual school system. Both of my sons sons attend schools that have armed staff members, and there is not a sign asking visitors to be unarmed. In fact one school has a sign on the door warning would be bad guys what will happen if someone tries to harm the students.

Ever Wonder

Ever wonder about the 30+% in the polls that approve of the job that Biden, and therefore the monster  government, is doing?  What in the hell are they thinking? I can only conclude they are socialists/communists or just stupid, as are Biden & all.

44% Idiots

I just read that a recent poll puts Biden's general approval at 44%.  My initial reaction is how in hell can 44% of this country approve of his idiotic policies. Everything he does is bad for the republic.  The worst president in my lifetime. 

The poll included more socialists/democrats than republicans, which might explain the 44%.

Snuck of to the range yesterday for a couple hours of trigger time with handguns. Shot some 9mm, 45acp, 357Mag, and 454Casull.  Part way through shooting the Kimber 45 I noticed I was hitting significantly to the right at 25 and 50 yards. At first I thought it was me and tried to correct myself, but to no avail. Then I found the front sight had drifted to the left. I've never had a sight move like that.

So I Drove

the F250 diesel about 9 hours across the small eastern mountains to attend great-grandson's birthday celebration. Rather flat interstate driving resulted in 26mpg with 19mpg average. The truck was only loaded with the Boss, 2 dogs and luggage. She doesn't like traveling with the dogs in the back seat of her car scratching the leather and spreading fur. Yet to be determined how well it does with pulling a 12,000 pound trailer.

I haven't been so disgusted with the federal government since the Carter years. Hopefully this republic can survive the stupidity without shedding blood. If not, so be it.

A Cheer for Texas

 As dictated in the Constitution, the federal government has very little authority.  Unless specifically stated, all other authority lies with the states and the people. For most of my life, as I recall, the federal government has overstepped it's authority, and of late has failed to do its job.  Since the Fed. has refused to perform one of its assigned duties, the security of these states, Texas is stepping up.

Every so often the people of Texas considers leaving the union. I wonder if it's about to happen again.  If I lived there I'd be very tempted to vote for leaving the USA.
