Not Much To Say Lately

Been busy as hell at work, and at both the homes.  We're a bit over half moved into the new 'little' house, with more work to do before changing residence.  And as things are moved out of the 'big' house, needed repairs are uncovered.  Took last Friday off as a vacation day, that was spent upgrading the kitchen plumbing at the 'little' house, all weekend.

Thankfully, next week we'll actually be on vacation.

Revolution Time

Read today that the UN will probably implement a world tax, most heavily on the more successful industrialized nations.  The money will then be redistributed to countries that are less successful financially.  It seems that Obama is in support of this, once again flipping the bird at US historical values.

Taxation without representation was one of the reasons for the revolution against the English.  It's past time to push the UN building into the water, with or without giving the occupents advance notice.

Celebrate the Rich

As most politicians just can't sell their record in the last several years, they are attacking other issues of the opponent.  Obama says there's something wrong with Romney having money, via his fathers success and most likely building on that.  Since when did the success of the 'American dream' become a negative?  I think being financially successful should be celebrated, not scorned.

Why Stay ??

Other than simple inertia, I can see no legitimate reason for gun manufacturers to remain in certain states. In fact many have good reasons to move. Most good reasons are economic combined with - why pay taxes to a state government that wants to shut you down. That's more than stupid.

News or Rumor

In a town a few miles up the interstate, a little girl fell to her death down the stairs. A young man who was reported as babysitting has been charged with murder for this incident. It seems the injuries were more consistent with being slammed against a wall than falling down stairs.

I've met the guy being charged a few times but really don't know him very well, but he never seemed the murderer type. Can anybody really tell about that? My sister-in law, niece and great niece have known him for a couple of years and find it hard to believe that he would hurt a child.

Murder is extremely doubtful in my mind. Going over the edge in a fit of rage though, could happen to anybody with little self control.

The Boss just told me that the local news, once again, got some facts wrong. He has not been charged with murder, but with breaking probation, to which he pleaded guilty. Thanks to the falty news release his family and friends have been receiving threatening phone calls.

What a mess. And the news reports makes matters worse.

Range Time

I did make it to the range for a couple of hours this afternoon. For the most part my marksmanship was actually better than I expected. I pushed several shots, actually more than several, but not too bad. I shot 357, 9mm and 22lr at 50 and 75 yards. I always get a few 'looks' when I start shooting a hand gun at ranges exceeding 25 yards.

At the end I ran about 30 through the SKS. The first time in about 2 years.

It sure felt good.

Been A While

And posting will continue to be sporadic. Still working on modifications to the new place and to some extent making repairs to the house for sale. The 'sale house', where we still reside, is now also about half empty. Tomorrow is 'open house' so we're cleaning up today.

This weekend was to be 2 days of no work, but play. Today was supposed to be 6 hours of a big paintball game, and tomorrow a trip to the range. Unfortunately it rained all day today, and tomorrow will have a few hours of work, and less time at the range. At least some range time is still in the plan.

So this evening I gathered a few items for the range, and got a big surprise. When I opened the safe I found that my Kimber 45 was not on the shelf. I looked all over the house and couldn't find it. I asked the Boss if she put it up somewhere away from the grand kids, but she claims to not having even seen it. I haven't been shooting in about 5 months, so I had no idea what I did with it.

Sitting here, typing this, I now remember where it is. We have a hidden compartment here in this room. I put the Kimber there when the Hi-Power was removed for a site replacement. That was last fall. In fact, tomorrow, I'll be taking the HiPower out for the first time since then.

Had a worried, scare for a while there.

Oh So Wrong

Carney said that Obama was expressing the point that on national economic challenges, "there should be due deference paid as a matter of precedent to our democratically elected officials."

He couldn't be more wrong. The job and duty of the high courts is to test the passed law against the constitution. It matters not what the court believes is right, or what political beliefs, only what is written in the contract between the people and government. There is a process defined that is for changing the contract, but now days the left, in particular, tries it's best to ignore both the process and the contract.

I was wrong about Obama. He's not a socialist, or communist, he's a 'would be dictator'.

Who Cares?

At dinner tonight the Boss, while FOX News was on, complained that all we seem to be hearing about is ObamaCare. Enough is enough! Yeah the court ruling will have a lasting effect on the very base of this country for generations to come. In fact, a ruling in favor of any part of ObamaCare spells the death of this once great nation. But who cares, we're tired of hearing about it. It's much easier to just stick our collective heads in the sand, and hope our tail feathers don't get blasted to hell.
