My Two Girls

It'll be 1 week tomorrow morning since the Boss had knee replacement.  The knee bending machine is now set at 75 degrees, heading for something greater than 100.  She's also close to getting her leg straight.  This week we had 1 nurse and 2 therapist visits. The physical therapist will be coming here 3 times a week for at least 3 weeks.

Today she spent a couple of hours on a recliner in the living room.  She said it felt good to get away from the bed for a while.  Thankfully she can get to the bathroom on her own using a walker, though she needs help getting out of the machine.

Our husky/shepherd mix has been acting different ever since the Boss came home from the hospital.  He spends a lot of the day, and all night laying near her in the spare bedroom.  It's like he knows she's not right and is standing guard.

On a lesser note, the mare seems to be getting a little better.  She's been stall confined for 6 weeks now, so 2 more weeks before I can start walking her.  She has some noticeable muscle atrophy.  We'll start with walking on a lead, free time in a small paddock followed by pasture time.  I'm guessing the end of April before we can have some saddle work.
